“Dork with a Fork”- Sodastream
When I come across a new kitchen gadget that I find to be absolutely fabulous, I tend to geek out about the product just a bit. I can’t quite help it…it’s the foodie in me.
While I used to refer to my new kitchen tools discoveries as finds from the “Kitchen Gadget Guru”, I decided that a more appropriate title for myself is the “Dork with a Fork.” Periodically, I will gush to you about my latest kitchen gadget discoveries and tell you why they just might be a necessity in your kitchen.
Onto today’s “Dork with a Fork” discovery.
Sodastream is by far one of my favorite gadgets that I’ve stumbled upon in the past 2 years. I used to spend a ton of money on buying cans and bottles of seltzer from the grocery store. Not only was it breaking the bank, but since I bought it in such large quantities, it was also breaking my back…just a bit.
When I found Sodastream, I was incredibly excited that I could get my bubbly satisfaction within seconds. If I was feeling a little creative, I could concoct a great lemonade or mojito and just add the freshly made club soda to my mix. Voila! A perfectly bubbly and refreshing drink within seconds. Sodastream also comes with a variety of different flavorings ranging from cola flavors, diet colas, energy drinks and fruity flavorings.
Not only did I cut out the costs and “labor” of buying club soda from the store, but I was also cutting out the trash and recycling that I had been creating when I purchased store-bought seltzer. The use of the reusable plastic bottles even led me to start carrying the bottle around instead of disposable water bottles.
