“In My Family We Call It Egg in the Nest”- Egg in the Nest with Sunflower Seed Flagel
Yes, I know it seems like a simple Delish Your Dish recipe, but hey…it’s early on Monday morning.  I have some great recipes in store for you this week.  I think it’s nice just to ease into the week with a simple and delish breakfast recipe.
There’s a great bagel place near my house that sells Flagels (flat bagels).  It’s great because who really wants all that bread?  This morning we had the Sunflower Seed Flagel with an egg in the nest…it was superb!
What You Need:
Flagel (I haven’t tried making my own flagel- it may be possible to scoop and roll out a regular bagel)
1 Large Egg
PAM
1. Heat a small sautee pan and grease with PAM.  Slice the Flagel in half so you have two semi-circles.  Place the flagel in the pan and allow to toast for about 1-2 minutes.  Then, while holding the two pieces of flagel about 1/2” apart, crack the egg into the center.  The egg will spill out just a little bit, but make sure the yolk stays in the center.
2. Cover the sautee pan with a lid and allow to sit until the yolk forms a white film on top.
3. Serve once the yolk has formed a film, or its cooked to your desired taste.  Enjoy!
