“Wonton Happiness”- Crispy Banana Wontons
I’m sure you’ve all been to a restaurant where they serve a fried banana wonton dessert that you find yourself drooling over. While having a dessert that has bananas in it may seem ‘healthy’, we both know that eating bananas stuffed in fried dough is just the opposite. Therefore, I’ve come up with a solution to getting that great taste without the guilt. I made two different flavored wontons (Banana Chocolate Chip and Banana Maple)
What You Need:
2 Mashed Bananas
2 Tbsp Mini Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Cinnamon Sugar
Wonton Wrappers
PAM
Set oven to 400 degrees on convection.
1. Mash each banana in a separate bowl. In one bowl add the chocolate chips and mix. In the other bowl add 1 tbsp of maple syrup and 1 tsp of cinnamon sugar to the banana mixture.
2. Place a small dollop of the mixture into the wontons. Just slightly wet the edges of the wontons and fold over to form a triangle. Crimp the edges with a fork and place onto a greased cookie sheet.
3. Spray the tops of the wontons with PAM and place in oven. Allow to crisp for about 5-10 minutes (keep an eye on them so they do not burn). Flip the wontons over so they crisp on the other side.
4. Remove tray from oven and toss the wontons into a bowl of cinnamon sugar. Serve immediately with a scoop of ice cream.
