Delish Your Dish Does TV Dinners- Hell’s Kitchen Challenge- Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter and Jelly Thumbprint Cookies
Yesterday, I asked you all to participate in a little game inspired by Tuesday night’s Hell’s Kitchen. A number of you gave me letters to choose from so that I could make a dish using foods beginning with those 5 letters. Thanks to Tiow, Benadgatemusic, Cackipants, Julie Gutman, and Just Kidney for providing me with some letters. The letters I ended up with were C, A, V, J, S. I used chocolate, almonds, vanilla, jelly and sugar to create todays recipe.
What You Need:
For The Cookies:
1/2 Cup Butter (softened)
1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
Pinch of Salt
1 1/2 Cups Flour
2 Tbsp Milk
1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
1/4 Cup Chopped Almonds
For the Filling:
Peanut Butter/Almond Butter
Jelly (I used raspberry and blackberry)
Set Oven 375 degrees.
1. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Then add the flour, milk and chocolate chips to the mixture. Mix until a dough has formed.
2. Grease a cookie sheet and set aside. Pour the chopped almonds onto a plate. Then, roll the dough into 1 inch round balls and dip one side of the dough in the almonds. Place the dough ball on the greased cookie sheet. Then, using your thumb, make an indentation in the cookie dough.
3. Next, place about 1/2 tsp. of peanut/almond butter into the middle of each cookie. Then top the peanut/almond butter with about 1/2 tsp. of jelly. Place the tray in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
