“Un-Twilight Friendly Pasta”- Whole Wheat Penne with Fresh Garlic, Broccoli and Mushrooms
What you need:
Whole wheat Penne Pasta
4-5 cloves of garlic
Broccoli (I used frozen)
Mushrooms (4-5 white mushrooms)
Dried Basil
Olive Oil
Grated Parmesan Cheese
Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
1. Cook pasta according to directions on package. Set aside.
2. In a large saute pan, pour about 1-2 tbsp. of good olive oil. Turn burner on low. Slice garlic into thin slices (I just invested in a garlic slicer and it is quite wonderful). Throw sliced garlic into hot pan. Keep stirring the garlic so it doesn’t burn. Garlic should be begin to brown though.
3. Defrost frozen broccoli in microwave. Wash and chop mushrooms then throw into pan. Let mushrooms cook down. Add pasta and broccoli. Add dried basil (add to your taste). Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and mix. Add red pepper flakes for a little heat.

*I prefer to buy the Barilla Penne that has the extra protein, doesn’t have that whole wheat pasta taste and has extra nutrients!
