On my Delish List- Pinch and S’Mac
So I’m back from my trip to New York! I had the best time in the city and had quite a few culinary adventures! I did my share of hiking through the city to make sure I had some good things to report back to you tumblr’s!
On friday, my friends Lisa, Dara and Bennie joined me for lunch at Pinch and S’Mac. I needed a few guinea pigs to try out a few flavors so I could give a fair review of the restaurant.
The place is located in the Upper West Side not too far from central park. Pinch and S’Mac was pretty full, but it didn’t give us a crowded feeling. There were a lot of parents there with their young kids as well as young diners like my friends and I.
We were a little overwhelmed with the menu choices, you can either order pizza by the inch or mac n’ cheese (in a variety of flavors). The employee at that was taking our order wasn’t too familiar with most of the mac ‘n cheese flavors, and I wasn’t brave enough to create my own mac, so I went with the Garden Lite (Lite Cheddar, Parmesan, Roasted Cauliflower, Portobello Mushrooms, Roasted Garlic, Broccoli & Scallions). I honestly wasn’t thrilled with my choice, it was a bit on the bland side, and had maybe 2 mushrooms and 1 piece of broccoli.
Dara ordered the Napoletana (Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Tomatoes, Roasted Garlic & Fresh Basil). Dara thought that it needed more cheese and agreed that there was a lack of vegetables.
Bennie was the lone pizza/salad orderer. He thought that it would have been better had the pizza not been “floppy”. Also, the salad he had order was just plain, although the dressings were quite delish!
Last, but certainly not least, was Lisa’s Mac ‘n Cheese. Lisa was brave and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac (Cheddar, American, Boneless Chicken & Buffalo Wing Sauce). While I know that all of my dishes are usually vegetarian, I couldn’t leave out the carnivore in the group. Lisa LOVED her dish! Despite the amount of oil that was at the bottom of her dish, she raved that it was “a bowl of spicy, cheesy goodness, what’s not to love!”
All in all, it was worth experiencing if you’re a fellow Mac and Cheese lover, but I wouldn’t say I’m running back there the next time I go to NY.
Stay tuned for more places on my Delish List from my NY visit!
