“C is for Cookie”- Sugar Cookie with Chocolate Ganache
So this weekend my family threw a party for my Aunt Ida who was turned 90. Of course it was a desserts only party because, A: my family is full of chocoholics, and B: because my Aunt Ida claims she can only eat desserts. (When I’m 90 I’ll only be eating desserts as well!)
So my contribution to the party was supposed to be something that I saw on Everyday Italian with Giada. Of course, when I went to find the recipe, it disappeared and I was left to figure it out on my own. But, its all good because my way was easier than Giada’s and I’m sure it was just as delish!
What you need:
Sugar cookie dough (store bought is fine)
3/4 cup Chocolate (I used Trader Joe’s 72% Dark, or you can use semi-sweet morsels)
3 tbsp. Heavy Cream
Sprinkles (optional)
1. Pre-heat oven according to cookie dough package. Meanwhile, chop up chocolate and place into sauce pan with heavy cream. Keep stirring the chocolate while on low eat. The chocolate should become smooth, if you need to, add a drop extra of cream. Set aside.
2. Bake cookies according to package (I made some giant cookies and some mini cookies). After the cookies are done baking, let them cool then either place a dollop of ganache or spread evenly over the entire cookie, then cover with sprinkles or even M&M’s.
*These cookies were so easy to make, but they got amazing reviews. So kick your sugar cookies up a notch just by adding a delish ganache! Enjoy!
