“Broccoli Cheese is a Breeze (And yummy too)”- Broccoli Cheese Bread
This is an easy recipe that can be used if you’re in need of a quick appetizer or can easily be made for a snack for the week. I used to make this recipe with my mom when I was younger, so its definitely a kid-friendly dish! Kids not only love making the broccoli cheese bread, they also love eating it!
What you need:
Pizza dough (I bought the pre-made dough from Publix bakery)
1-2 cups Shredded Cheese (I used low-fat chedder and monterey jack)
~ 2 1/2 cups Chopped Broccoli (frozen is easiest)
1-2 egg whites (depends on how big of a dough you’re using)
Flour (to keep dough from sticking)
Set oven to 350 degrees.
1. Roll out dough so that it looks like a large oval. Defrost chopped broccoli, then drain so that remaining liquid is removed.
2. Spread broccoli and cheese on the rolled out dough. Spread the mixtured so that theres about a 2 inch space between the mixture and the edge of the dough.
3. Fold over part of the dough so that it covers part of the broccoli mixture. Then carefull roll the entire dough over so that it makes a log.
4. Pinch the dough together so that the cheese doesn’t melt out of the dough during baking.
5. Then brush the egg-white over the entire dough so that it gives it a beautiful brown crust after baking.
*Serve with warm tomato sauce.
**You can substitute the broccoli with spinach or a mixture of veggies!
***Freezes beautifully!
