“Ain’t nothing Square”- Chocolate Toffee Squares
I’ve been called, emailed, texted about putting the recipe for Chocolate Toffee Squares up, so today is the day! A loyal follower of Delish your Dish, Janet Z., even asked if I would bake an entire tray for her. But instead, I thought that I would give the gift of posting the recipe! We should also all thank Aunt Sue for teaching me this amazing recipe (This is actually one of my top faves)
What you need:
2 cups sifted flour
1 yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup soft butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup (or more) chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans, coconut, sprinkles (your choice)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 pan.
1. Sift flour into bowl.
2. In blender, blend yolk, vanilla, soft or melted butter and brown sugar.
3. Then add flour to mixture. Spread evenly into the grease pan.
4. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
5. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. After spreading the melting chocolate, sprinkle your favorite toppings. Cut into squares while it is still warm.
*These cookies freeze wonderfully!
**Great activity to do with kids as well!
