“Open Sesame!”- Sesame Seitan
Last night I was looking for something quick, easy and filled with protein. Luckily, I went to the store this weekend and bought a package of seitan. Now some people are scared of seitan, because it is truely an unattractive food. But, while it may be unattractive to the eye, it is quite delish!
What you need:
1 package of seitan
Sesame oil
Roasted Sesame seeds
Set oven to 400 degrees on convection
1. Lightly drizzle the sesame oil on top of the seitan. Then sprinkle roasted sesame seeds on top. Place in an oven safe dish and put in the oven.
2. Depending upon how crispy you want the seitan will determine how long it stays in the oven for. Leave it in the oven for at least 10-15 minutes, if not more if you like it crispy like me!
*I served this with brown rice and vegetable stirfry
*The sesame seitan would also go great on a salad with low-fat asian dressing with some mandarin oranges.
