“Chocolate Bark that Won’t Break the Bank”- Chocolate Bark with Pretzels
So last week after having lunch with an old friend of mine, we walked over to a chocolate store near my office so she could have something sweet.  I was looking at all the goodies and pretty much drooling over all the amazing chocolate.  Then something struck my attention….THE PRICE!  I was looking at the dark chocolate bark and noticed it was well over $20 a pound!  Are they for serious!??  Especially during times like these, I don’t expect anyone to pay that much money for chocolate bark.  So, I decided to make my own.  I spent less than $10 to make my chocolate bark and I’m sure it was just as delish as the $20 chocolate bark.
What you need:
1 bag of chocolate chips (I prefer to use the kind from Trader Joe’s- it’s incredible)
1/2-1 Cup Pretzels (break the pretzels into pieces)
1. In a microwave safe dish, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave for about 1 minute.  Then stir, then put back in the microwave for another minute.  If it’s not melted, put it in the microwave for 30 second intervals.
2. Pour some of the melted chocolate onto a flexible cutting board, or onto a piece of wax paper.  Spread the chocolate mixture until it is a little more than 1/4 inch thick.  Then sprinkle the broken pretzel pieces onto the chocolate.  Then pour the remaining melted chocolate on top.

3. Place cutting board or wax paper (i would put a tray under the wax paper) in the freezer for at least 2 hours to ensure that the chocolate has hardened.  Then remove from freezer and break into pieces.  Store in an air tight container in the fridge.

*This is a great idea to give as a gift and also cheaper than buying from a chocolate store.
**Experiment with different add-ins.  Try adding nuts and dried fruit, or oreo pieces and M&M’s
